Term 1 in Ruma Kea.

Term 1 has been largely about getting to know each other - me getting to know the students and them getting to know me and my expectations.
Watching as Ms Cummins demonstrates
We had a lot of fun and some learning happened along the way.
Part of our reading programme has the students presenting what they have read, in their own words and style, to the class.
Making Bread - one group read about bread making. They were asked to present how bread is made to the class. Then we all made our own loaves of bread.

Gently mixing it all together

Ready to start kneading
Fully delicous
Looks like it passes the taste test.

Kiara and Matilda read a book about making a musical instrument from jars of water. They made presentation for the class and demonstrated the instrument.

Another group read the story of Rona and the Moon, they were asked to make it into a play. They put a lot into the practise and got to perform it for the class. We arranged the seating like a theatre and at the end we got to ask the performers questions about the play.

I am looking forward to the new term, with a lot more fun learning.
